it is generally better for human happiness to be doing financially better than those around you. your absolute level of wealth is far less important than being superior to those around you. numerous studies have proven this. To be more likely to be happy, you need to be somewhere where you are in the top third. it’s going to be tough in SD.
I absolutely agree.
People generally don’t really see beyond their own villages.
National City is sounding pretty good…for happiness.April 11, 2010 at 1:16 PM #538159sdrealtorParticipantFor the most part, nearly every one of my neighbors has more money than I do. I could care less. I dont need to feel superior to anyone to be happy. To me its irrelevant. The funny thing is that is why I left the east coast. Everyone there is so concerned with keeping up with the jonses. Here people are more concerned with their own happiness rather than looking outward. I suspect scaredy’s studies were conducted some other than SD.

Most people’s idea of a vacation is a cruise or a stay at a resort where the entertainment is planned by an Activities Director.
The cookie cutter neighborhoods of San Diego try to give you a taste of that.
If that’s your idea of the good life, then why not live in Celebration, Florida?
