    The best deal I’ve seen in a while from a La Jolla foreclosure was a 3 bed/2.5 bath just about 2200sq ft in the gated community of Ventana that went for $637k at auction a few months back as homes have still been selling in the low to mid $900s there.

    PC – Also to add… my sentiment is weighted heavily to detached homes, not condos.

    Can you provide an address for this foreclosure sale that took place in Ventana? I can’t find it in any of the sites I checked.

    Yeah I did not see this as an REO sale on the MLS. I assume when you say it went for 637k at auction that this was the trustee sale and it went for 637k back to the lender. Is that correct or was it auctioned off at 637k to a private party?

    Yeah I did not see this as an REO sale on the MLS. I assume when you say it went for 637k at auction that this was the trustee sale and it went for 637k back to the lender. Is that correct or was it auctioned off at 637k to a private party?

    It was 5832 Caminito Empresa. Auctioned off in April 07 to a private party that is currently flipping it. It just went pending this past week and is listed in the $799k-$850K range.

    I was at the auction on Broadway downtown but wasn’t sure how the process worked as I had just found out about it late the night before. Wasn’t going to risk approx. $650k without knowing all details. Would have liked to live in that house at that price for the next 10+ years, but other opportunities will come around.
