Just wanted to add: It should be perfectely clear by now that we, the taxpayers/govt, are responsible for all the losses while all the profits go to a small group of private individuals. If we’re going to be shouldering all the losses (even if we don’t want to!), then we should be the decision-makers, and we should be entitled to all the profits as well.

I have two very good sources who are looking for college loans presently and the are actually very frustrated with that process compared to what it used to be when their older siblings obtained loans.

Obama himself believes there are billions and billions in medicare waste and fraud. Yet that is a govt program correct? So the answer is to slash and burn it and replace it with another govt run health program and this program will be the largest ever.

This is how they make their money. They underwrite and do the legwork for the loan as well. Should they not make any money for doing that?

Even if the example works, where do you stop it? You see what I am saying? If you want to, if you really want to, you can take it pretty damn far and eliminate alot of private enterprise. You can say well it depends on the size of the organization and such… In the end though it is somewhat arbitrary and I am not sure it was the original intent for our govt.
