ParticipantSD Realtor and I warned you that there would be massive government intervention coming from many directions and most of you poo poo’d it. There will be lots more to come. The government serves the people and the majority of people in this country own homes or want to buy homes. They do not want to see a housing meltdown. Right or wrong the government will intervene. Anyone who didnt see this coming is a bit naive.

ParticipantKramer is nothing more than a glorified TV evangelist that plays and preys on sheeple’s emotions…..with the exception that he can’t filter his personal expenses through a 501(C)3 corporation like the Oral Roberts camp…..
He is the epitome of hype and was one of the biggest advocates of the federal reserve slashing rates which in turn has caused the dollar to drop like a rock. I guess he doesn’t understand yield spreads and risk premiums that investors demand in an environment of rapidly depreciating assets….go head drop the prime rate to 0%….that will solve all our problems like it did for Japan….
I think I am going to Toys R Us today and maxing my CC on all kinds of gadgets and toys that make funny noises and start a TV show and act like Kramer…..hell, maybe I will be rich like him too and the government won’t have to bail me out of my CC debt?
It is scary when the government does not allow people to experience things in life that are the necessary building blocks for character and thrift…..
Keep the presses running Ben….keep printing that paper with big headed presidents…..welcome to America… the new Third World Country……
Sincerely, Contraman

I think it's more that the government serves the financial institutions. The mere bailout is disguised as a bailout for "average joe" to make it look good, when reality is the bailout is needed for banks. If there wasn't the threat of a meltdown in the financial markets, I would think the level of government participation wouldn't be nearly as much. Bailing out average joe's is just icing on the cake.
