Guestjp, sorry to lose you from the bear camp. Your commentaries and contributions have been outstanding. It is unfortunate that you had to buy a house that wasn’t your dream house just to make your husband happy. But if it saves your marriage in the long run, I guess it is worth it as long as you can affort the house.

I will have to take solace that at least I managed to not buy at peak and saved us from financial ruin (at least until now). Hopefully we’re close enough to bottom that the damage won’t be too detrimental.

GuestRight, it could be a lot worse. The real knife catchers are those who bought between 2008-2010 because they generally didn’t have the luxury of no downpayment loans that they could walk out on. Most of the fools who really overpaid in 2004-2007 timeframe had the luxury of walking away.
