Right now, for me, in this moment, I HATE renting.

Seriously, though, we are getting close. I can feel it. One can only call their landlord so many times with no response before one starts to feel like packing.

Unless, of course, we (my sweetie and I) have once again donned our invisibility suits without realizing.

Can you see this? Can you read this? Because apparently not only are our voices invisible but so are our written communications.

You know I sit here right now, looking at the beach and the ocean beyond as I type this and I am thankful, thankful that we have been able to live here, in a house, in a location we never could have afforded as buyers.

But I am ready to move on to something that is ours. I know, I know, we will just be “renting from the bank” if we have a mortgage (which we will unless a pile of cash shows up, which I am open to, so if any of you have a pile of cash lying around you do not know what to do with, well we would certainly do it proud). LOL

While I am at it, if any of you wise, wise folks here have advise more specific to our journey, I would love to hear it.

We are a couple in our 40’s, no kids (so no school district issues), work from home (so no commute but that requires a house with more rooms or even a separate bldg), love to garden/organic farm (which requires a bit of land, would love an acre but could do with half an acre), and love the water.

We are first time home buyers, and I believe we probably qualify for some programs due to that fact and our income which seems to fall within the parameters for CalHFA

Do you think it is wise for us to go the CalHfa route?

Are there other programs out there that we should pursue?

And again, I am open to a pile of cash or open to being given a house or whatever (want to be open to all possibilities as we manifest our reality).

BTW, what is so critical that you are calling the landlord for? Is it a health safety issue or do you think he needs to replace a lightbulb for you?
