P.S. @ briansd1
Also… funny story here. I like to tease my friends in China with the same things you mention. I tell them, “Haha! USA has achieved communism BEFORE you (China)!
That actually makes them angry because they’ve been TRYING to achieve communism for more than 60 years now. And here is the USA who claims to be a capitalist country, but we achieved it before they did.
So funny.

Don’t give up on the debate. You guys (gals) have valid points to bring up. The debate is the true essence of what it means to be American. That’s why I respect the American founders so much. They debated everything ad infinitum. And then they made the system such that both majority and minority can have their voices heard. Genius.
Ok, ok. I’ll play the Kansas redneck again, so you feel superior to me. Obama is black! So I’ll wave my flag and … uh… say God things, and say USA, and … uh… show my gun! Because he’s black. Did I mention that he’s black?

Since you’ve traveled to China for 3 months you’re a good American in my book.
Anyone who’s been out of the country looking around (for leisure rather than work, and not on a tour) is deserving of praise.
