The townhome I am buying is fairly new – built in 2004 and the appliances seem to be in good condition. The home has had only a single owner since 2004, who does not seem to have used the appliances much. Thanks for all your responses! I am leaning towards not taking the warranty, and using that money towards others things needed for the home.

I thought I was going to have to buy a new fridge but I checked out their Virtual Repairman http://www.partselect.com/Virtual-Repairman.htm and was less than $100 for the part! Plus I got free instalation instructions. So after all this I think you can really save a lot of money by learning how to do a few things yourself, I say take the cash!!!!
