what’s FSBO?
For Sale By Owner. It’s when people sell their houses themselves without realtors. You should check out http://www.forsalebyowner.com
Damn, that’s cool. I never heard of FSBO before. Is that the common term?
yeah, i think so. But if anyone else has any other experiences with for sale by owner sites like http://www.forsalebyowner.com, or the others, please let me know your experiences.
Just make sure you get on the MLS.
I used owners.com (bought the sign at home depot, which came with a free listing). They mailed me a sticker to put on the sign w/my phone number, website link. Also used this link for newspaper listing. This in SLC area in Utah. Since it was a sellers market then, I didn’t see the need to list on the MLS. About half the phone calls I got were from realtors, anyway.
I would probably have a different strategy depending on RE market conditions in your area. At the time I sold, Utah was pretty active. Looks like it’s slowing down a bit (saw this coming, was why I sold). This was the second property I sold FSBO (nope, not an specuvestor) so I was comfortable with the process. Good luck!
In a good market anything including FSBO will work. In a tough market like we are in right now, its very hard to sell even if you do everything right. Good luck with that FSBO and remember time is money. The sooner you sell no matter what it costs you the better.
