Dropping the Cable

We use a PS3 and a roku with a subscription to Netflix and Hulu +. I would recommend the roku. For the price, it can’t be beat. I also love the way they organize their “roku channels”. I have barely begun to explore, but their is a TON of stuff. We use AT&T dsl because COX was horribly unreliable. We’re paying $25/month for 12mps service which has been just fine. I use a d-link dr 655 router. The setup has been rock solid since we dropped cox.

We did get lucky, and cox has not snipped the line so we still get all the local HD channels over the cable line crystal clear. If you subscribe to cox internet, I would check to see if you’re getting the local channels as well.

I have AT&T Uverse internet only (~6 mbs). Does anyone know if that comes with basic cable? If yes, what channels? I live in 4S rach and indoor rabbit ears don’t work, even the expensive ones. Actually they kinda do if I stand in a particular spot holding it up.

Best thing I did was getting Roku and dropping cable. Now I watch more documentaries and less junk and commercials. There is plenty of junk on Netflix but if your ‘wise’ there is a lifetime of knowledge and education you can give yourself and your family from the right programming. Great thing is you select it not the network. Love it.
