Looks like the first fatality might have happened in CA.

BTW: I was over at UCSD medical center today. I can say, they were taking this flu seriously. There were nurses/health personnel at the entrance of every building stopping people.

They did’t whip out the thermo scanners yet. Just stopping every person at the entrance, asking questions like….have you felt sick, do you feel like you’re running a temperature, coughing sneezing. If you answered yes, I suppose the give you a mask and refer you to a nurse there (I don’t know. Didn’t have any symptoms of sickness so they just let me pass)….Then they gave you a paper you take to the doctor and your doctor takes your vitals and writes/dates it (even if you’re there for something unrelated)…Supposedly, you’re suppose to return the form when you leave…I guess that way, if later you are infected, they either know how to contact you and/or know the time/date the incident occurred.
I asked my doctor what she felt about this swine flu. She had really no comment to say neither that it’s overexagerated nor not enough warnings/cautions.
I am considering pulling my kid out of daycare…I wrote to the head master if they were going to start taking temperatures of kids prior to a dropoff. Looks like they already have been monitoring kid’s health (even more so these days….If your kid has anything remote to a small cough of sniff, they send the kid home right away)…
