I’m willing to bet that most of you have never done anything more politically active than sign a petition at a mall.

I wasn’t passing any judgement on the pros/cons of a particular issue. I am encouraging people get out there and participate in our democracy if they feel strongly enough on any particular issue.

The NSD-nation (NSD like-minded folks who are the silent majority) is gonna be running the local, state and god-willing national government. While we’re out organizing, raising funds, running for school board, city council, state representative, you will be perfectly happy just typing away frivilious thoughts on blogs, we will govern you. You will look up one day and say, “what happened?”. We will be smiling.

Some of you on this board want to muzzle the truth. Perhaps you can’t handle the truth.

You only really matter in this country if you can express your will politically or economically.
Those who just sit around smoking pot talking, or those who talk about their inside knowledge while leading a book club, really don’t matter.

A silent majority might as well not exist. If they do something then they are not silent anymore and they do matter.

Anyhoo, my level of political involvement has only been civil disobedience, organizing protests, voting, and occasional boycotting.

i disagree that doing nothing cannot have an impact. Buying nothing, going nowhere, consuming less, not “doing” as much has a big effect economically, on a personal and global level. When growing high quality pot in CA is legal and they start hanging out with the neighbors and getting high and not hanging out at the mall, well, it does have some kind of impact. So I would say the greatest impact you can have is in doing nothing.
