ParticipantAs a recent transplant out from DC area, I’ve noticed that locals out here seem to be generally apolitical.
I often visit DC and it seems to me everything there is over-politicized. Everything from what you drink and eat to which hand you wipe your ass with, is viewed in terms of politics.
I think coming from there to any part of the US, the people would seem apolitical.

ParticipantWhats the big deal here. The OP is coming from DC. Of course he/she is far more politically sensitive. Talk to someone from NYC and they’ll decry the lack of good restaurants, nightlife or culture. If we were in DC we’d be crying about the lack of decent surf or outdoor activities.
