I’ll have to admit I’m not real savvy on exchange rates and how they change daily. When I heard Schumer on Bloomberg blame the Chinese for our economic peril I could not believe it. Let’s see major corporations have been exporting jobs for well over 10 years now, and we have the gall to blame the Chinese. That would be right up there with retailors blaming the consumers for not buying while at the same time they just replaced jane or joe with an illegal so that they could “stay in business”. His views seemed to be backed up by Geithner. Is this the beginning of protectionism? We can no more tell the Chinese to change their exchange rate than we can tell them how to run their military. If they want to enslave their people change will have to come from within their country.

Is there any way to buy and hold the Yuan as cash? Considering that it is more likely to appreciate against the dollar and the likely of the yuan decpreciate against the dollar is extremely low.

Ok, so if China is investing in US stocks and treasuries why would the secretary of state be upset with them? Also if their economy is taking off, I assume they have inflation,why would they buy US treasuries. If I were china I would take all that money and invest it in a powerful military. Just read that they untied their currency from the dollar today, will that cause us inflation? I had no idea that we import more from Canada than from China,interesting!
