I will gladly offer my services as chairman-for-a-day. Prior to announcing a substantial write-down, simply appoint me to as chairman of your board (or CEO, COO, etc). You can then make your announcement, I will publicly take responsibility for the mess, and then nominate you as my successor.

My fees are quite reasonable, and I am definitely willing to consider non-monetary arrangements such as lifetime health care, lifetime private jet service, or lifetime supply of your products (depending on your industry).
