After a while you’ll pick up toxoplasmosis from the cats and you’ll become as crazy as them. Don’t fight it.

October 28, 2010 at 11:43 AM #623731bearishgurlParticipantSeriously, Ox, I’ve had cats all my life, lol. I currently have two neuters that own me. Cats are very independent and often have “favorite” people they own whom they grace their laps with their presence. Don’t take their diss personally . . . they’re just not that into you . . . yet. Why don’t you buy a large feather toy on a flexible nylon wand to play with them with?

When you walk in a room and they dart under a coffee table, sit down on the floor and drag the feather back and forth slowly on the floor. Made a wide semi-circle a few feet in front of them. Their eyes will begin to follow the feather and they’ll probably take turns pouncing on it (it’s “prey” to them). If you swish the feather on the floor and then lift it up about 2-3 feet high, they’ll eventually take turns jumping up to grab it. One of my cats can jump over 4′ high to grab it. When they lay on their backs holding their “catch,” take it from them and rub their stomachs with it, rinse and repeat. Do this for about 5-10 mins. every day and then they’ll start looking for you to bring the feather out instead of run away and hide.
