It’s not the mechnical drivetrain stuff that you will have issues. Usually, the itself is pretty well built from the germans…It’s usually the electrical stuff (including sensors/etc) that’s really the issue with german autos, and if things fail, they really don’t repair. They replace entire components, which will cost you a bundle. If you really want to keep it a long time, the alternative is to really “dumb” down the car when it comes to electronics.
