How do you guys expect the average American to develop multiple streams of income by age 50? Not realistic. People normally spend what they make and anticipate the continue to make the same and more forever.
I have meet rich people who don’t save and end up having to downscale.

China’s Reviving the American Heartland — One Low Wage at a Time
Yesterday I was at lowes getting a new washer/dryer for a rental (continuinglabor day sale). I met an elderly couple who are remodeling. They have used GE appliances all their lives and now they are getting the GE Profile line. I didn’t tell that GE is now owned by Haier of China.
I personally think foreign ownership is not bad. Maybe there will be new blood and they will come out with a more angular euro style architectural look.

Agree, developing multiple streams of income by age 50, or earlier, with sustainable savings does not describe the average American, but I can assure you, there are many of us who have taken this path, and some started with very little.
September 10, 2016 at 4:29 PM #801162moneymakerParticipantMultiple streams sounds great. Starting a brick and mortar business doesn’t sound like a good idea, unless it’s a beer brewery, that way one can stay liquid! Selling online is an easy thing for many but remember their is competition there too. I make a little money trading but that has gotten old and unpredictable lately, so the best way to have financial security for those over 50 is to probably save more, spend less. After reading through this thead the answer appears to be no, no jobs for you! Scaredy i’m not sure if the unemployed thing was directed to me or not, but no I’m employed,at least last time I checked I was.

He wants to “bring jobs back” by slapping tariffs on importers. He wants Americans to do such things as sew clothes and manufacture plastic toys again.
What’s strange there is CHINA doesn’t even really want those sorts of jobs anymore. I remember when I was a kid, “Made in China” was everywhere. These days it’s rare to see textiles from China.
But I guess if he wants more companies like American Apparel, does that make him a hipster? #deepthoughts

India is the one taking over the Jobs Americans want not China LOL.
September 13, 2016 at 10:38 AM #801193mixxalotParticipantIf they would cancel H1b and stop outsourcing to China and India, that would be a good start for Trump.

Good luck with that one.
September 13, 2016 at 12:45 PM #801195AnonymousGuestThe jobs that Trump refers to are American manufacturing jobs. They left decades ago. Every politician and candidate since the Carter administration has promised to reverse the trend, none have made any progress.
The “bring the jobs back” campaign slogans are targeted toward the Rust Belt swing states like Pennsylvania and Ohio. Even though the jobs left in the 1980s there’s a lot of nostalgia in these places for the glory days when the river valleys were the center of the economic world.
These jobs aren’t coming back. Trump can’t bring them back, nobody can bring them back. But many people in these places want to believe, and they may just vote for the guy telling them what they want to hear.

Not sure about jobs coming back, but maybe this dumbrenter can finally afford a home in Pacific Highlands Ranch if that were to happen!
“Tear down the H1b, Mr. President and bring up the tariffs” 🙂I might get my home but will never be able to afford any more electronics or avocados.
And I might have to mow my own lawn and maintain my own garden…on second thoughts, this is not looking good at all!
These laws of unforseen concequences never ever work in my favor.September 13, 2016 at 1:43 PM #801197fluParticipant

If they would cancel H1b and stop outsourcing to China and India, that would be a good start for Trump.
Those people who do already have PR and did so through the other way in buying or starting a company in the US with $X dollars so they can get their PR.
Sounds to me you should focus on saving for your first home versus thinking about trying to juggle a rental in Texas without having any prior experience.
Funny that all you people trying to blame all your financial problems and career problems will find even in the absence ofnh1b, you probably would be in the same financial situation you are currently in.
You just don’t want to accept it to be true and are just fishing for excusesSeptember 13, 2016 at 1:57 PM #801198HobieParticipant
….These jobs aren’t coming back. Trump can’t bring them back, nobody can bring them back. …..
Same reason they left: cost of labor.
September 13, 2016 at 2:37 PM #801200HobieParticipantNow add in the high cost of energy, EPA regs, unions and yup, we are doomed.
Where will the new jobs be if Hillary get elected?
