Ok, so this is TOTALLY unscientific, but I have noticed what seems to be a much larger number of advertisments for buildings for lease in the upper sorrento valley area.
So I drive home through this area everyday for the last 2 years, and I just noticed alot more signs than before. It could be seasonal. It could be that I happened to start paying attention to something right before my face. But it is something that I noticed today.
For anyone who is in the know, Are my totally random observations actually based in some reality? How are other areas doing?

I’ve read that there are strong correlations with residential real estate and commercial real estate, but residential real estate cycles lead commercial real estate cycles by about 2-3 years. The study I looked at was national, not local, but seems worth mentioning nonetheless.

I’ve been touring commercial buildings in the area the last few weeks and have been working in this general area for about 8 years now. There is a LOT available right now IMHO.

I asked our broker, and he said there is a lot available but at the same time he is very busy. Lots of lookers, but people are being cautious right now and not jumping in yet.
