Woman has skipped her housing payment to pay for a vacation.

I don’t get A&E. Can you post a summary?

Think of it as an inverse of “Flip this House”. It’s like “Flip this family’s spending habits”.

Current outgoings: 6500
Current Incomings: 3250

Choice points:

1 – Husband doesn’t work. Views anything less than previous salary of $50K as being “beneath him”
2 – Raid daughters piggy bank for money
3 – Mortgage check is bounced to pay for vacation
4 – Blew through the 85K profit from previous house sale in 6 months (obviously implying a 100% financing on current residence)
7 – Huge ass truck bought to set up a business (which fails, mostly due to husband’s complete lack of knowledge about running a business)

Of course the cherry on top is that they have 4 Direct TV boxes and only 2 tvs.

The lasting impression is their sense of entitlement and sheer disbelief with the way they react to the fact that the money has to come from somewhere….

Absolutely classic! These people should be candidates for the Darwin Awards…or maybe that’s what they should change the show’s name to. Excellent post yoolkid. I particular like the comment about the 4 Direct TVs links and having only 2 TV sets!

I have a friend that sounds just like these people – husband keeps trying and failing to start a business, new truck, refi and spend.
