You think they are over priced?
Dude, I wouldn’t pay more than 100 sq ft for one of these places…..
All the commercial underneath is empty and the restaurant just backed out…fun times…
So you really think housing in the heart of SD is going to go for $100/sq ft? When was the last time that happened? And where did you hear about this commercial property? Thanks

March 18, 2009 at 5:01 AM #368706lindismithParticipantI live on 5th, 2 blocks south.
The area is known as ambulance alley, as ambulances leave the hospital just north of us, and head straight down 4th at all hours of the day and night with sirens blaring. Then, they come back up 5th with the patient 20 mins later, sirens still blaring. I had to get sound-proof windows a few years ago.
I have been on the Atlas tour. I don’t believe there are sound-proof windows.
I think for what you get, you will feel like a rat in a cage unless you are in the penthouse.
In another year or so, pricing will be much more realistic. Even then, sirens are never good.

March 18, 2009 at 7:02 AM #368920macromaniacParticipantJason,
I have a few commercial agents that find deals for me. Starbucks just closed on the corner and where there was supposed to be some theatre they were going to open a restaurant and they backed out. All of that space underneath is empty….yea….empty in the good old heart of San Diego….where you can hear the ambulances all day long and live in a condo complex and pay high HOA’s……
I did not say it would go to 100 sq ft…I did say that I wouldn’t buy one for more than that though. But it will drop A LOT more….
