ParticipantMarion: “It isn’t what this thread is about, so I won’t even argue your view of kids except to say that someone that doesn’t want to see kids running around is scary to me. No judgement of you, it’s just plain cold and scary. Kids are the best part of this world.”
In my view kids are not the best part of this world. They’re anchors that restrict freedom and adventure. But that’s just my view, obviously not shared by the majority or yourself. But that’s ok. Different strokes for different folks. That you find anyone who doesn’t want kids “cold and scary” is patently ridiculous (and hysterically funny). But, of course, you’re free to hold such a misconception. In fact, it benefits those of us who have no interest in kids because our frigid-scary natures will (hopefully) scare the likes of you away, thus reducing the odds of our ever having to interact on any level save an internet forum.

I think if it were that easy he would have met someone already. I think he probably is a good catch from a well rounded perspective. Anyway I didn’t really want to publically theorize on his situation. Having not suitably coupled, despite pretty much wanting to and actually having some ammount of magnetism and being capable of deep friendships, until I was 38, I feel like I kind of relate. The comment about not dating Americans is interesting. I made similiar statements. I have read of Nostradamuses post he is often sympathetic with the underdog just as I am.(not that foreigners are all underdogs even as immigrants in this country) I think this is fantastic but can also belie an insecurity with our own culture. I am absolutely not pointing fingers at anyone who married a foreigner. Dating foreigners has its perks but cultural issues can also be murder. Doing it because of feeling uncomfortable with your”own” might be a recipe for failure. I dated white women but we tortured each other.(not like that)I looked at this in myself and was with my wonderful wife who is of my same culture and race months later. My european caucasian mom died when I was 10 and I was an underclass as a white kid where most of my white female peers at school lived on the other right side of the tracks.I could not approach them for fear of being ridiculed for my poverty some were very cruel because I was poor AND white. Having your mom die as a kid could have and effect too. It WAS something inside.
I am not saying it is the same but it is something about Nostradamus, not the ALL of the women.Forgive me Nostradamus this is absolutely a reach, take anything you need and data dump anything else.Anyone who feels like picking on me for saying this start a new thread. Those are the rules.LOL

Participantre: Allan from Fallbrook…
When I referenced Home Depot and Fry’s, I was trying to make the point (& apparently not doing too good a job of it!) that there is no “magic place” to meet the “right woman”…and to express my surprise that Nostradamus has had such a difficult time meeting educated, financially independent women. Perhaps my social circles are a bit skewed (I’m a lawyer), but trust me, they are out there.
