wow. this is pretty fine parsing. I am just flat out rude i guess. I’d say, sign this and get it back to me. assuming I believed they wanted to do whatever the signing was meant to accomplish.
I certainly wouldn’t say “could you”, since clearly they are physically capable of signing.
Sign here and here. rather than rude or controlling, to me it just sounds like, fake phony to say please sign here and here. I never would say that.
plus it sounds vaguely weak and sycophantic. sign it or don’t sign it, frankly, i don’t give a crap.
But I’m certainly not going to say please. I’m more suspicious when someone is saying please, like they’re about to get one over on me. in fact, the please makes me not want to sign. i would prefer the brutal frankness of the command, and so would be more prone to issue those.
