Wherever one chooses to live, it’s human nature to make the best of it (and the only thing to do) and to have pride in their “hood.” And of course, different strokes for different folks.
I’ve posted many times my fondness for Morgan Hill, which explains our owning multiple homes in the area, our watching the area, and eventual plan to possibly buy again there.
May not live there full time, but a nice investment, part time residence- a place to hang out when I have the golf/wine/gambling itch. Much easier to care for then one of the aforementioned higher end areas, and there are some nice floor plans.
No matter how bad the crash, I think Morgan Hill will remain nice for the most part, and it’s my opinion that it’s remoteness will have something to do with that. How Temecula Pkwy was developed was a great disappointment IMO, as it had significant potential, but it’s my belief that much of the planned development in the area was shortsighted and only with the quick buck in mind. This was both local and out of area developers at fault.
TG is right about the road dev, it will take awhile for reasons he stated and more. Until more people die on the 15 as they sit bumper to bumper in the right lane trying to get off an exit while cars fly by at 90 will the outcry become louder for alternative routes. Pechanga and Wine Country expansion to the point more cars will be en route will be at least another 5 yrs before it’s more of an issue.
Temecula can be a great place to live, and Morgan Hill is certainly one of the nicer tracts.
I will say TemekuT, when you do go out to eat, make sure you visit the locally owned establishments and shy away from the corporate restaurants. They need your help, there are a few thriving, but many are hurting really bad right now and need the extra business. A lot of good people out there.
As far as Irvine goes however, I am very happy to be here thanks. It may be a big bubble, some may not care about the US safest city ranking, schools may be too competitive, it is highly corporate, etc etc, but nowhere is perfect, and having been in the Bay Area as well, NY, FL, OH, all over SoCal, for me this is by far the best place we’ve been.
