That said, if you’re a software guy working in a chip company, it’s been a nice long, fun, run these past couple of years. Get out, now. You are now considered overhead. And with each chip company penny pinching while going after those slim margins that keep getting slimmer in Asia (particularly china), it’s not going to end well for you if you stay in the chip industry as a software engineer.
