why do we tell our kids “don’t take candy from strangers” and “don’t talk to strangers”… but on Halloween we send them out SPECIFICALLY to talk to strangers and beg for candy for strangers.
As far as tax on the candy – my husband imposes the parent tax – he cherry picks his favorites out of the kids’ haul.
My favorite treat they got – one house offered kids a choice of a BOOK or candy. If they took the book, they gave them the candy too. Both boys got awesome Calvin and Hobbes books.
