It is a 3 owner car – first owner had it 10K miles, third owner inherited it from the second owner. Third owner was a mechanic and timing belt has been done. There is not a single door ding on it and it has original paint, so someone took very good care of it – the missing clear coat, cracked dash and seat were not due to misuse.
Edmunds says it has a trade-in value of $4700, private party sale value of $5700, and a retail value of $6900. But even back in the KBB days, local conditions varied quite a bit so value estimates have to be taken with a grain of salt. But no matter how you stack it, he didn’t overpay at $4K.
