the problem is Mieses may not have been part of the problem.
his wife claims mieses was trying to calm the crowd down.
As i see it, this was a garden variety traffic accident.
then it got a little tense, then lien drove through the crowd.
the mieses guy got run over
then it just got stupid.
If mieses was threatening lien, lien needed to be in “Reasonable fear of bodily harm” the problem is lien was inside a range rover, that was perfectly sound.
none of these chuckleheads had broken a window, none of them blown a tire,
sure the crowf was pissed. if you drive badly and run over a pedestrian the bystanders will get pissed too.
if you then drive through the crowd of angry pedestrians, because one slapped his hand on the trunk, well, that’s aggravated assault.
Lien needed to stay where he was, chill out, call 911.
now he’s facing a couple of million in lawsuits, he’s facing
a long messy, career destroying swarm of publicity.
i’m not going to join either side, the cops have arrested the guys who kicked his ass, and the lawyers are suing lien.
i’ll let the system work
How did his wife know he was calming the crowd down when he was in a coma?
Did Lien aim from Mieses and only hit him? If he didn’t, then it doesn’t matter of Mieses personally threaten Lien or not. If he felt threaten by the rest of the bikers, then he did flee in fear for his life and his family’s life. Perfectly legal. Mieses, if he really was trying to calm things down were just associated w/ the wrong crowd and being in the wrong place at a wrong time. Also, he ride his bike w/ no license and walked in front of a car on a freeway. Since when is that a smart or legal thing to do?
FYI, Lien’s wife did call 911, several times. So did many other people. There were over 200 911 calls about the bikers that day.
You’re right, lets hope the system will work this out and toss all those thugs in jail.
