In our current economic times, any candidate had better be careful what he/she promised. It’s obvious the road we are heading down, and obviously it won’t be a quick fix. Those who are educated understand that. Only the uneducated will wake up in May 2009 and be dismayed that the country is still in trouble. So what? Obama is idealistic. As long as he tries his best with all the resources he has to make the changes he talked about, I’ll be satisfied.
Hillary has been a b!tch throughout her campaign for the presidency, and she has shown some character flaws I was unaware of and do not approve of. Everyone has their strenghts and weaknesses and yes, she should have left Bill. She was weak in that regard. However, that doesn’t negate her strengths in other areas including her political life. She’s strong in that area, and yes, I admire that.
John F. Kennedy was weak in his personal life as well (Bill too). He could not/would not stop committing adultery. Yet, he was one of the greatest presidents that ever lived.
Partypup, would I support Hillary if she were the Dem candidate for the presidency. yes, I would. Would I be enthused about her candidacy as I would Obama’s? No, I would not. I thought I had made that clear along with my reasons.
Again, whoever the Dem candidate ended up being, he/she would have my support to get a dem elected to the White House.
