one thing that impresses me about San Marcos high schools are their Hispanic numbers. they really made an effort to pull up this historically low performing group. while there is still a gap in comparison to Whites, I would say to be able to get this group in the mid 700’s is strong work on SMUSD’s part.
SMUSD’s numbers are essentially very close to Poway’s numbers on Hispanics. Westview and RB managed to get their small population into the 800 range, but Poway High’s numbers are in the low 700’s and Mt Carmel’s small population are also in the mid 700’s.
What is surprising is how badly Hispanics perform in San Dieguito schools, couple of them are in the 600 range, and only one got the Hispanics just above 700.
San Dieguito may simply be benefiting from CV Asians that would frankly bring up any district’s numbers. But when it comes to teaching groups that really need good teaching, it comes up short.
