wow. This is just absurd. $535 is what probably half month rent for a lot of people… I mean you probably can afford this ticket, and so can I…I can’t imagine someone on minimum wage getting one of these….
Seriously, doesn’t it strike anyone that this is absurd? wow. state really needs money. $535 fine for a red light, which in itself is questionable tactic to ticket someone this way..
You know. It’s just wrong to assign a financial penalty to traffic offenses. If they were really interested in preventing this from happening, they would assign something like picking up trash for 100 hrs, in which it doesn’t matter if you could cough up the $500 or so….[/quote]

That’s bullshit… The red light camera can be off…way off. I’ve seen the ones in Carmel Valley in Del Mar Heights go off on the wrong time. Also, IF your car is at the shop and your mechanic blows through a red light, guess who ends up getting the ticket in the mail and who has the burden to prove it’s not you???
