I recently spoke with 2 Coronado realtors trying to convince me that renting was a bad idea and that we should buy. “Prices are not going down and the market is strong.” One did admit that “2005 gains were suspect” and that the market could return to 2004 levels (which are still ridiculous). I mentioned that we were looking for a 2-year+ rental in anticipation of a better re-entry point in a few years. I was told that I wouldn’t be able to find a long-term rental. Most landloards will only offer a 1-year lease and then we’d have to move again. I am so discouraged. I don’t know what to think. Is it possible that prices will fall in all areas but Coronado?
