I figure about 1/3 to 1/2 of the rebate will end up as Tax revenue for the State/Cities (sales and income), so it is an indirect way to funnel money into the states.
If I had a clunker worth 1000 or less I would be thinking about it definitely instead of just patching up the old thing.
This actually may end the recession just my opinion.
Just think instead of the trillions used for bank bail outs they could had gotten us out of this funk with maybe 200 Billion in different rebate programs ??
At least it would have gone to the everyday folks instead of WallStreet bankers.
