Hey AFF, hope you’re doing well. Here’s my answer: I don’t know that I have any very meaningful impressions of the Obama admin so far. Certainly one of the most incredibly challenging transitions in our nation’s history.
They bungled a couple of the nominations, Geithner and Daschle in particular. Geithner, while he may be the ‘man’ in Treasury, he’s also a tax cheat and shouldn’t be in charge of the division that oversees the freaking IRS. That’s just crap. And Daschle? Well, I never liked him that much anyway. Couldn’t even tell you why.
Overall, I’m more *struck* by my impressions of the GOP opposition. What a bunch of crying, whining, bitching, pansy-ass losers. From Rush Limbaugh saying he hopes the Obama admin fails (that fat-fuck, drug-addict piece of shit), to John ‘crybaby’ Boehner and Eric ‘sensitive’ Cantor, to DICK Cheney suggesting another terrorist attack is the fault of the Obama administration because they don’t want to keep America safe…
(I’m all for free speech but there are consequences to what you say, especially in politics. If I were Obama and Cheney said this two weeks into my term, I would immediately pursue an investigation into war crimes against key Bush officials. The gloves come off. At this point, we all know the facts. They are guilty of EXTREMELY SERIOUS CRIMES. The only thing standing between them and a firing line is Obama’s determination to set a more bi-partisan course.)
We’ve got major problems and a bi-partisan course is required. So far, it seems as though the Obama administration and democratic majority has been pretty fair with the republican side, concessions on various bills and so forth. I’d also say, give these GOP bums 3 more months and if they don’t change their approach, nail them to the fucking wall. A LARGE MAJORITY of voters made a decision last fall but these ass-clowns on the right don’t seem to have gotten the memo.
