“C)will not appoint judges to the supreme court who will deny my right to choose”
Many people don’t realize that voting for a president is not just voting for a president. The next president will very likely appoint another 1 or 2 justices to the Supreme Court. Whether you’re on side A or B of an argument, this is bigger than the next 4-8 years. This is about the direction of our country for the next 20, 30, 40 years. The makeup of the Supreme Court has slowly been moving to the right over the past 30 years. Whether or not that’s a good or bad thing is up for debate, of course, but the fact of the matter is that this election will change everything. The Supreme Court will either become more balanced, or get pushed even further to the right. The implications go far beyond any policy changes the next president will or will not bring.
I say to the self-righteous non-voting ‘protest’ voters that they need to look beyond voting for a PERSON. This is not about voting for a black man, or a white woman, or a crusty old rich dude, or no one at all. This is about voting for which DIRECTION you want this country to go, not just in the next 4-8 years, but in the next 20-40 years.
Ask not what your president can do for you, ask what the people your president appoints will do for your country.
