Guess what? In the Energy sector, Chevron IS the largest employer in California. Imagine that, huh?
Also interesting is the complete absence of any green energy companies in the Top 50. Now, you’d think if there were indeed 500k green energy jobs in California, that there’d be at least one green energy company in the Top 50. After all, Chevron employs roughly 6,000 people and made the list. And, as you yourself pointed out, that 500k number absolutely DWARFS that of Big Oil employment here in the Golden State.
So… Where are they? The companies and the employees that you purport are employed in this endeavor. 500,000 is a big number, even for a state the size of California. I mean, if we did indeed have numbers of that sort in that industry, you’d think everyone from the governor to the Prez would be crowing about it. Right?
