Between the war, the bubbles and the “financial crisis”, one does have to wonder if there is more of an intentional component to this “misery”. With the war it is obvious, but what about the rest of it. Why would TPTB be so reckless?
I have thought for a while that some of TPTB saw some writing on the wall, social changes coming that would affect the ruling class, etc. and hit the panic button, or a few of them.
Things have been so crazy that it begs conspiracy theories.The denial of exceptionally bad economic fundamentals followed almost immediately by dramatic bail outs, especially Paulson’s antics.
Now we Have Cheney making seemingly sinister threats against America.That he is so ready to scapegoat the new president for future attacks on U.S. soil is disgusting.This is not a defense of Obama because I don’t think he will really improve or worsen the odds. It’s just that Cheney is so grotesque.
It is probably just part of a lobbying effort for oil and military related interests. The fact that he would be such a bold faced creep about it is mind boggling.
I agree with the idea that we need to grow up and make intentional adjustments. First these people need to be stopped. Second, everyone of us needs to get over being addicted to independent prosperity as the preeminent goal of life,not through forced,expansionist communism, or any nationalistic socialism that begs for a superior standard of living relative to the rest of the globe but voluntarily and in good will.I am not optimistic, even though it seems so easy to do.
