Those skewed polls really helped President Romney?
I am not trying to make a personal attack here, but I think that someone has to step up and point out that your pedantic prose is not winning any fans.
You sure do spend an inordinate amount of time writing, but you do not really present cogent arguments. Your arguments either lack foundation or suffer from confirmation bias or false-consensus effect.
Your constant berating of these coastal dwellers shows that you suffer from primus inter pares effect. Your seeming distaste for many in the non-fly over states must reflect a deep seated longing for glory days of simpler times. You can channel that healthy longing in a manner that does not disrespect others.
BTW, I have lived in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois. Not exactly fly-over states, but still not exactly coastal either, so understand that life does exist east of 5, but it is too hot![/quote]Well, I had to review the thread in order to find out where you may have gotten the impression that I have a “distaste for many in the non-flyover states,” equalizer. Since I myself have been a CA coastal dweller for ~50 years (does Alameda Co count as a “coastal county?”), if that is true, I must surely have a “distaste” for myself, my family and longtime friends!
I have previously posted on this forum that I didn’t think the groups pulling the ridiculous and even dangerous antics during the primary season outside Trump rallies across CA coastal counties (specifically, Orange and San Mateo Counties) was representative of CA’s electorate. These loosely-organized individuals (young students, including non-citizens as well as undocumented immigrants) paraded nude or nearly nude in front of the hotel in Burlingame (SFO area, where Trump spoke in a CA Republican Party Spring meeting) and repeatedly tried to crash (and were successful in doing so) the entrance barriers before and all during his rally. Trump and his security team had to literally park their SUV on a fwy construction shoulder and run a couple of hundred yards over scattered broken concrete block and high weeds into the hotel’s delivery entrance through the back of the building! Shortly after, outside Trump’s Huntington Beach rally, hundreds of mostly young people (some undoubtedly undocumented) were waiving MX flags, burned at least one American flag and rioted and repeatedly stomped on police patrol vehicle(s) and even rolled one on its side. The rioting and scattered fires they started continued through the evening and into the night.
After the above incidences, CA cities in coastal counties where Trump held rallies (such as SD . . . I was there) had to borrow hundreds personnel from adjacent law enforcement agencies, pull out all their horse patrols, wear all their riot gear, pull out all their bicycles and bring out their SWAT tanks in order to property “manage” the crowd outside the venue (SD Convention Center). It shouldn’t have had to be like this!
I’ve heard a lot of rumors to the contrary, but I don’t have any concrete “proof” that any member of the “liberal elite” was behind organizing any of these thugs who tried mightily to interfere with a presidential candidate’s right to free speech in CA coastal counties. My question is only, “why here?” These thugs aren’t likely registered to vote in CA, anyway! Their criminal antics (and the in-your-face huge displays of law enforcement in full riot gear in every CA city Trump had a scheduled rally in) made the Golden State look like an effing war zone full of ignoramuses to the rest of the country on the unrelenting MSM. I was truly embarrassed as events didn’t happen at Trump rallies in other states anywhere near to the degree they happened in CA coastal counties. These “fringe groups” cost CA taxpayers of ALL coastal counties a fortune! We have to ask ourselves where the h@ll all these thousands of dangerous misfits came from and what the h@ll are they are doing here?
I don’t blame Trump for not bothering to schedule any more rallies in CA coastal counties (just scattered fund raisers). His presence seems to be too much of a (physical and financial) burden to the daily workings of CA coastal cities and counties. Yet, he can land his jet on the tarmac of the single runway in the likes of Redding, CA and be greeted by an enthusiastic, organized and cheering crowd who is NOT confined to the inside of a building . . . go figure :=0
Yeah, there IS something wrong if a presidential candidate can’t have a rally for their supporters in a particular city without hundreds of dangerous thugs coming out of the woodwork, hell bent on causing property damage and injury, thereby causing a HUGE headache (and great expense) for local law enforcement agencies. And you’re right, equalizer, I have no repect for them, whatsoever. We have to ask ourselves how CA coastal counties (San Mateo County to SD County) got into this situation. That’s another subject that no one wants to talk about.
