To listen to certain Obama supporters, he’s the Second Coming of Oliver Wendell Holmes.
No. That’s only to listen to certain Obama detractors make weak generalizations about Obama supporters.
We could easily make a similar sentence starting with “To listen to certain Ron Paul supporters…”
Wouldn’t have to go far for that one, would we?
I don’t care about a candidate’s supporters, I care about the candidate.
Now tell me if you can find one that understands and respects the whole Constitution.
Pri: I call bullshit on this one, too. This “constitutional scholar” issue was bandied about considerably during the runup to the Democratic nomination for president, with the Clinton camp trying to discredit Obama’s own assertion on the topic. So, NO, not just detractors (since Obama and his supporters were advancing this).
FactCheck got involved LARGELY because of all the queries and questions on the topic and U of C issued that press release based on the same reason. So, NO, again.
You can try to laugh off the “nuance” aspect of this, but it does matter. Maybe not to you, but as a “strict constructionist”, I’m sure you have your reasons.
