Question: How can you be in escrow and why does someone have your earnest money check if the bank hasn’t accepted your offer?

All of the offers that my agent has submitted state that no money changes hands until we have written approvals from all parties. On one SS we were told that we had approvals from all parties and that everyone was ready to open escrow. The listing agent wanted us to send them the earnest money check. My agent said that they would have it as soon as he had all the approvals in writing and had reviewed them. That was about two months ago. We have since received one approval in writing and the other is coming “any day now.” That was a couple of weeks ago.

Also, if you’re agent isn’t returning your calls then you might seriously consider getting another agent.
