Sorry, but it’s still not the norm to do telecommuting at most workplaces. You do that at the risk of your own career advancement. Most who do that indefinitely are career contractors. Maybe you do okay and maybe you don’t, but it’s a stretch to say that those people are going to hold up the SD economy.
