Everything you’ve argued in favor of with regards to the executive also apply to firefighters and policemen, but I have a feeling that you don’t approve of them getting their fat pensions.

Did I ever say that police and fire were overpaid? I don’t think I did, did I? I never had a problem with fire/police comps, frankly.

I think there are people who are overpaid (former UAW), but that’s a different story. My definition of being overpaid is “relative” to comparable position elsewhere. Government asking auto companies to cut benefits pay…Yes it will piss of entitled folks, but those benefits even cut will be on par with every other existing auto company, so there wouldn’t be a mass exodus to another employer. Cutting banking comps only works in as far as if it was unilaterally cut across all banks. Unfortunately, that won’t work if some banks are under tarp and others aren’t. This is simple management 101. In a tough economy, companies can and will squeeze applicable to the industry as permitted.
