Buy the cheapest home you can in the best area possible is a tried and true theory at any time in any cycle.
Which is why those in Ventana who paid $800 or more, and then spent $300-500k on upgrades, hardscape, will never get there money out. Unless they sold to a sucker at the bubble height. We might not see those prices for 15 or even 20 years.
I would make an exception to the rule if you could get one of the few that put in extensive hardscape, actually built out the backyard, did a nice pool, and could be bought at $600.
But don’t buy it for the view, you’ll get sick of your out of town guests asking you about that big green thing in the hills.
I also haven’t quite figured out that part of the Anza road extension project. I always meant to mountain bike around that side, but the heat always made me change my mind. So who knows you may be looking a road.
