Why not “make friends” with some of the yakking women? You sound like you could use some “friendship.”
September 7, 2013 at 2:44 PM #765228scaredyclassicParticipantNo way!!!!!!
September 7, 2013 at 3:23 PM #765229NotCrankyParticipantI bet you would be talking shit if you tried a one hour spin class and tried to keep up with some of those women. C’mon anyone can ride a stationary bike.
September 7, 2013 at 3:40 PM #765230spdrunParticipantSpin class … bleeeeeech. I’d rather do the real thing, meaning an actually bike on roads or trails.
September 7, 2013 at 4:17 PM #765231scaredyclassicParticipanti was spinning back in 98 befire it caught on.
it’s dumb. but fun.

Sure on the road where you can coast. No coasting on these spin bikes.
I agree that it is boring….and not at all necessary….I have taken the one hour class exactly once. I went 30 miles.September 7, 2013 at 6:34 PM #765234NotCrankyParticipantThis rant of your’s , scaredy, it sounds way to judgmental !

This being said, given the right kind of road, you don’t HAVE to coast or rest up if you don’t want to.

Yeah, it was pretty generous,,but I can do mid 20’s in a hour on the regular stationary training bike (lifecycle) with no class to help (though I usually do a half hour). Then I go lift girly weights and chat it up.I have ridden on the road but won’t do it since my kids came along.

When people go to church, they shouldn’t be on their cellphone or chatting during services.
September 7, 2013 at 7:43 PM #765243scaredyclassicParticipantreality on a bike is generally more challenging than a spin class. reality in anything is usually more difficult.

Seriously, are you that afraid? I used to go biking with my parents and sister along the coast road that goes through all the beach towns in central NJ. (Pretty similar to the stretch of 101 that goes from O’side to La Jolla, a bit narrower in places.)
Quite a bit of fun for a 8 year old, though I remember being terrified that they’d open the drawbridge while we were riding across it!
September 7, 2013 at 8:18 PM #765245scaredyclassicParticipantkind of. but it’s just plain natural testosterone. i think i havemore than i am usually capable of handling.
