Why oh why didn’t they acquire another chip company to strengthen their portfolio is beyond me.. Hello, maybe Infineon or XXXcom that does wireless chips…
This is going to go down as dumb an acquisition as
HP + Compaq
Symantec + Veritas (which BTW Symantec did felt it had to do because the security business growth was slowing…Yeah that worked out well. And now Intel wants to diversify into security biz for growth….LOL)
And apparently Intel didn’t check that neither McAfee or Symantec are really leaders in mobile security, which is where the growth would be (if any)…
