March 21, 2010 at 10:06 PM #528549briansd1GuestI recommend water proof roofing rather than a lattice type cover.
Real roofing require much less maintenance and it allows you to use your patio when it’s raining and/or too sunny. It will also save your furniture and keep it cleaner so can can sit in it when needed. Your dog can also run out when it rains and you have space to dry your pet before letting him back in.
You can use corrugated metal roofing as an inexpensive material. Good design can make it look attractive. Think of the Island burger restaurant.
You can also build it yourself if you’re handy.
