I was surprised. I don’t have any contacts in Canada nor do I follow what’s going on up there. The last thing I read about their economy was that the Canadian dollar had achieved parity with the US dollar so I thought things must be doing well………………and much better than what we have been experiencing in the USA.

The east is manufacturing based so their exports are hurt by their strong dollar..But the west has the natural resources, so they tend to do better….Their financials have had some hits with exposure to the US subprime problem.
bloomberg.com has good reports on the canadian economy…EWC is a great ETF by the way…Have owned it for years….
