Can anyone suggest a car rental company that does one way rentals from Irvine to LAX without the drop off fees? Someone suggested this as an alternative to catching the shuttle.
Hertz will let do one way but I beleive ther is a 25$ drop off charge.
You can also contact Enterprise rent a Car. Often time they will offer to match or beat any deal that you find. You may want to let them klnow you ahve found a company that is willing to waive the charge and see if they will match or beat that.

We use AVIS since it’s walking distance from our place, but last time we went to LAX, we used AVIS on the way up and Alamo on the way back. Way better than using a shuttle, and relatively cheap too! With AVIS, when you drop off at the airport, they meet you at the car with a scanner, so you don’t even go in, you just hop on the shuttle. Don’t know how the other rental places are though.
