Callahan’s Pub in Mira Mesa happy hour weekdays 4 to 7. If you wanna meet after seven go on “Wednesday Wing Nights” from 7 to 10.

I’ll bet a good number of y’all work nearby in Sorrento Valley.

  That place looks cool and you can get to it via a number of freeways, Mondays or Tuesdays after work for happy hour is my vote, my calendar gets busier as the week goes on and my body is already in peak performance for Monday night drinking since I just completed a seventeen week program of conditioning called Monday Night Football.

I voted for Encinitas. Depending on how the weather goes, I’d also suggest the tapas bar at the Estancia La Jolla Hotel. It’s worth the trip (and the $6 Coronas) just to see the world’s most beautiful urinals!

Callahan’s is a great idea. Middle of mira mesa makes it convenient for people on the 15 corridor, the 5/805 corridor, etc.

And given the number of engineers in this bunch – the suggestion that many of us work in Sorrento Valley is probably accurate.

I’m going to try to make it.

    Recently a routine police patrol parked outside a bar in Bandera, Texas.
    
    After last call the officer noticed a man leaving the bar so intoxicated that he could barely walk. The man stumbled around the parking lot for a few minutes, with the officer quietly observing.
    
    After what seemed an eternity and trying his keys on five different vehicles, the man managed to find his car which he fell into. He sat there for a few minutes as a number of other patrons left the bar and drove off.

    The police officer, having patiently waited all this time, now started up the patrol car, put on the flashing lights, and promptly pulled the man over and carried out a breathalyzer test. To his amazement the breathalyzer indicated no evidence of the man having consumed any
    alcohol at all!
    
    Dumbfounded, the officer said, “I’ll have to ask you to accompany me to the police station. This breathalyzer equipment must be broken.”
    
    “I doubt it,” said the truly proud Texan. “Tonight, I’m the designated decoy!”

    Hopefully we will all recognize Rich from his picture. Since my “wear our underwear on the outside” suggestion got shot down, here’s how you’ll find me, Dark grey suit, blue striped shirt, yellow tie with dots, I’ll likely have a plate of chicken wings in front of me and glass of red wine. I’m purposely mismatching clothes and food/drink to make it easy to find me, and a vague resemblence to a taller (and maybe heavier) Kevin Spacey. If you notice me or recognize rich and you say hello or see others saying hello, that will be your cue to introduce yourself. I thought about going with a pocket square in a certain color since pocket squares and irish bars are a bit of a mismatch but I can’t find them, so just hope that I’m the only guy with a blue striped shirt and a yellow dotted tie. Depending on the wine list and my mood, I may go with a beer so you will just have to sharpen your observation skills and notice the four or five guys that look like engineers that I’ll be talking to.
