Shiller Long Term House Index

Pretty sure this graph has been posted before but just thought I’d point out that the average person across the country now has access to the fact that the last time there was a spike like this-around 1895 or so, housing prices didn’t catch up again, adjusting for inflation, for 95 years. At first I thought the argument that housing prices might never reach this level again seemed absurd, but when measured in real terms, it seems this is entirely possible, or at least maybe not for another 100 years.
